ECDC, September 2026: worldwide, more than 2 million dengue cases and more than 1,000 deaths since the start of 2026. Americas, PAHO, through the week ending 30 August: 1,658,783 suspected cases, 3,290 severe, 552 deaths, 57 percent lower than the same period in 2025. In that week Peru was 35 percent higher than its own previous four weeks. South America, ECDC, week 36: Brazil 1,294,963, Colombia 79,304, Bolivia 58,628, Peru 55,943. India, as of August: 46,670 cases, against 49,553 in the same months of 2025. Sri Lanka, as of 27 September: 100,127. Bangladesh, 14 to 20 September: 10,135 suspected cases and 35 deaths that week. Nepal, August: 1,776 cases, up from 918 in July. Maldives: more than 2,900 cases by 24 May. This update has no country figure for Argentina, Paraguay, Ecuador, Venezuela, Pakistan, Bhutan or Myanmar.
